Mindfulness is about being fully awake in our lives. It is about perceiving the exquisite vividness of each moment. We also gain immediate access to our own powerful inner resources for insight, transformation, and healing.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is a way of paying attention to the present moment, on purpose and in a particular way (with the attitude of kindness, curiosity and patience, and without judgement). Mindfulness involves daily formal meditation practise (mindfulness meditation) and informal practise (anything and everything happening in your life!)

Neuroscientists have discovered that meditating regularly can relieve the symptoms of chronic pain, improve focus and reduce stress. Using MRI scanners, researchers have actually been able to measure changes in the brain caused by regular meditation practise. It was reported that those who meditated for about 30 minutes a day for eight weeks had measurable changes in grey-matter density in parts of the brain associated with memory, sense of self, empathy and stress.

Other widely-recognised benefits of regular meditation are as follows:

  • better quality of sleep

  • more balanced mood

  • increased attention-span and improved focus

  • better memory

  • a sense of inner-calm is developed

  • increased resilience (better ability to withstand life’s knocks)

  • stress is reduced

  • breathing pattern deepens, more oxygen reaches the cells and the body is better able to come back into balance

  • high blood pressure may be reduced

  • more empathy for others resulting in more harmonious relationships

  • better sense of self and more self-confidence

YOUR MINDFULNESS SESSION

Mindfulness is often initially taught over 8 sessions. This can be in a group or 1-1. Once the initial course is complete regular sessions are a great way to keep up your practice either in a group or 1-1.

MINDFULNESS WITH SUZI

Suzi completed her Mindfulness Teacher Training in 2015. Sessions are available in groups or 1-1. In person and online.
